Kelmarsh Hall opened its doors to welcome couples to this year’s Wedding Experience yesterday (September 23rd).

The popular event gives couples the chance to see the Hall set up for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, as well as meeting a range of hand-picked wedding suppliers. Bride and grooms-to-be braved the rain to be greeted by a roaring fire and string performances in the Great Hall, a harpist and bridal fashion shows in the Saloon and canapés from our three recommended caterers in the Ballroom. Portfolio Events presented their mouth-watering pudding table, laden with miniature desserts, while Emerson and Wests displayed a wedding cake with a difference – a tiered ‘cake’ made up of cheese rounds.

It proved to be a busy day for Kelmarsh’s wedding team who were delighted to meet lots of new couples. The Hall’s Wedding Co-ordinator, Jill Doughty, said: “We really enjoyed the day and it gave us the chance to meet lots of happy couples. There was a lovely, fun and relaxed atmosphere and the feedback that we had from the suppliers was that it was our busiest event yet. The fashion shows by Courtyard Bridal Boutique were a huge hit with the attendees.”

A marquee was set up in the grounds and was filled with suppliers on hand to give couples ideas for their big day, including Kelmarsh’s in-house florist, a range of trusted photographers, a vintage crockery company, a photo booth, an acoustic duo, a casino, stationers and live entertainment. Among the new faces this year was the Candy Carriage, a vintage carriage full of retro sweets and the Jolly Pedlar and his ice cream tricycle.

Candy Liverpool was one of the visitors who came along to see what Kelmarsh Hall can offer. She said: “My partner Paul and I came to the wedding experience yesterday and fell in love with Kelmarsh. I met some great suppliers - thank you for a wonderful day.”

Cheryl  Agnew-Bass, of  Ariella Strings (String Quartet, Trio and Duo), was performing in the Great Hall throughout the day. She said: “As always, the Kelmarsh Hall Wedding Experience was a real success. We were amazed at the number of couples who braved the weather just to come out to this fantastic venue. With excellent wedding suppliers and extremely dedicated, professional staff, this well organised show did not disappoint. The number of top wedding suppliers involved makes this wedding show one of the most prestigious in the area.

“We have already been contacted by three couples who want us to play for their weddings at Kelmarsh. The weather could never dampen any event at this venue – it is beautiful in all conditions.”
