Elegant interiors, charming gardens, fine wines and food are some of life’s most pleasurable experiences.

A Celebration of House & Garden Writing

Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens welcomes guests to our 2nd book day to listen to authors who will speak passionately on good living, good design and the personality of home.

This year’s line up will be –

• Award winning garden journalist Stephen Anderton who will speak on “Christopher Lloyd: His Life at Great Dixter”
• Farrow & Ball Colour Consultant, Donna Philips, will explain how the use of colour can achieve striking results
• Writer and academic Catherine Horwood author of “Gardening Women”
• Christopher Stocks who will talk on a subject very close to the secret heart of the Walled Garden at Kelmarsh, “Forgotten Fruits: The Stories Behind Britain’s Traditional Fruit and Vegetables”
• Amanda Vickery author of “Behind Closed Doors: At Home in Georgian England”
• Renowned interior decorator and garden designer Martin Wood who will talk on his latest book on Laura Ashley

There will also be an opportunity for guests to attend Auctioneers, Gildings “Antiques Roadshow’ and talk to experts on fabrics, interior decoration, fine food and cookery, fine wine and garden design. Plus for any owners of historic properties there will be time to discuss the problems these wonderful properties bring with advisors from The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.
