Seasonal Highlights
"A forgotten world of true gardening and wonderful country house style.."
Arne Maynard
Spring: Pots of tulips in late April and early May spring up in delightful colours. Much more modest in their charms are the naturalised snakes head fritillaries and bulbs that sprinkle the verges.
Summer: Now is the season when the long herbaceous borders come to the fore with groupings of cottage garden perennials and sweet pea obelisks and topiary. Our roses are at their best just after midsummer and the cut flower borders and kitchen garden come into full production with cornflowers, cabbages and currants!
Late Summer: The walled kitchen garden is in full swing with the cut flower borders pumping out sunflowers, amaranth and our favourites, dahlias- we have over 30 cultivars on show. The Full bounty of the vegetable and fruit beds is on offer is at its height.
